Angelic War

As an atheist, I am still fascinated by the mythology of the angelic wars, which is frankly more interesting than the most of the rest of the bible. In some versions of the angelic wars, Lucifer is an angel who opposed the big G and started a war. War = armies, which means the heavenly "host" must have individual identities and personalities, in order to pick sides. Since there was a war and some sided with satan, there must have been some sort of discontent in Heaven, or why would any angels side with lucifer? What are the implications of an angelic war? Hmm. If angels can oppose God, does that mean that he isn't so all-powerful after all? why would god allow a war to occur in his realm? Did God fight in this war? if not, then he really does seem like a giant bastard. If he is so all powerful, what did he have to fear from going into battle? anyways, didn't he create everything, including angels? huh. and i thought he only gave free will to man. well, anyways, according to the myth, after lucifer and his followers are defeated, which apparently means that some angels must have been killed, and that angels can be killed or at least destroyed? well, the story goes that lucifer is cast out of heaven and is put in charge of hell for all eternity as punishment. What?!?!! does that seem at all reasonable? why not destroy him? what is the advantage of creating hell, or giving satan dominion over some realm of evil? how does that make any sense? and the story says that the angels who fought with satan were made into demons. Why not destroy them also?? What is the function of demons? But more to the point, why did god keep lucifer alive? what is so important about lucifer that he should be allowed to exist as a ruler of hell? That seems interesting to me. Another story in the bible is the legend of Jesus. The bible repeats again and again that Jesus is the only son of god. If god and jesus aren't human, what is the point of saying that Jesus is god's son? what does that even mean? did god have sex with some lady god, who got pregnant and had a baby jesus up in heaven? why is so much effort spent in the bible saying that jesus is the ONLY son of god. hmm. When I was a kid, I thought they were just trying to convey what a great sacrifice of both god and jesus that his coming to earth and dying was. But that is from a human point of view. From the point of view of an almighty creator-figure, jesus is just another creation that he could easily re-do. So to the "angels" and lucifer, why not just re-create them? does god have only one bottle of magic "angel" powder to make demons out of, and after that's gone, that's it? no more creating angels i guess.

back to lucifer. perhaps the reason that this one biblical "fact" that jesus is the ONLY son of god is engrained into the minds of all christians, in every prayer, said at every meal, is simply a bit of advertising, similar to a car dealer saying they have the BEST deal in town. Perhaps it is simply not true. Perhaps it's a cover up. Maybe Jesus isn't god's only son.

If you had a son who turned his back on you, how would you respond, as a father?? in human terms, you would maybe disown your son, kick him out of the house, take away his inheritance, and never speak to him again. Sounds quite similar to the story of lucifer, doesn't it? Perhaps lucifer was the one slated to be in jesus' place on earth. Maybe lucifer is god's firstborn son, and jesus was the runner up. Maybe what lucifer opposed was that the idea of condemning mankind was wrong, or maybe he just knew what was going to happen to him if he took on the sin of the world: he would be forever separated from heaven. Maybe god LIED to jesus, after he created jesus to take lucifer's place. please note that LUCIFER means light, and jesus was said to be the "light of the world." MAYBE lucifer was created to be the light of the world, but he found out the truth. See, in the bible, it states that when JESUS took on the sin of the world and paid the cost, that he was separated from god. that god turned his back on his "only" son. However, then 3 days later he rises from the dead. There seems to be a hole in the plot at this point. So why is he suddenly forgiven?? how does that make any sense??? why did he only have to die??? what's so special about jesus that he can pay for all the sin of the entire world for ALL TIME, including past and future, by being dead for just three measly days. that doesn't seem to add up. Why couldn't some other angel do it? My thought is that maybe god had to trick jesus into going down to earth, when in reality once jesus took up the sin of the earth, he would be FOREVER separated from his "father" in heaven. Thus, in the anime "Hellsing," which is fantastic, it is hinted at one point that Alucard, the original vampire, is in fact jesus christ, explaining why vampires are undead, why crosses, holy water, and garlic matter at all to vampires: they are symbols of the living/dying Jesus. Not the dead jesus. Also, this explains why he would become a vampire, if the sin of all the earth were never forgiven once he took it up. Now that would make an interesting story. maybe i should write a fictional book??
